Port Blair, Apr 05: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, INTUC met the Chief Port Administrator (CPA), Port Management Board on 4/4/2016 along with the representatives of General Employees Union and discussed certain genuine grievances & demands of workmen employed in the establishment of Andaman Labour Force such as filling up the vacant direct recruitment posts of mazdoors and promotional posts of Labour Supervisor, Sub Divisional officer etc., in the establishment of ALF and Shipping Godown, Amendment to Recruitment rules to the post of Head workers, Winchman & Signalman, payment of arrears for incentive and additional wages accrued since 7/2011, early settlement of final T.A. Bills of retired employees, issues relating to Labour canteen at Haddo Wharf No.1 and ALF Employees Welfare Thrift & Credit Co-operative Society, timely payment of night duty allowance, incentives, additional wages for holidays etc. and providing amenities to the workers like Toilet block at Haddo wharf No.l, ATM facility at Haddo wharf, opening dispensary at Haddo for providing immediate medical attention/first aid care in case of any accident to workmen while on duty. The CPA gave a patient hearing to the President, INTUC and assured early action.
