Port Blair, May 10: Lt General NC Marwah, PVSM, AVSM, Commander–in-Chief Andaman Nicobar Command reviewed the Coast Guard Fleet at sea on 09 May 12. The Operational Readiness of Coast Guard units were displayed during the review. Four ships, one Dornier and one Chetak demonstrated various evolutions. The evolutions included boarding operations, pollution response capabilities and Search & Rescue operations. CG Chetak exhibited mail transfer at sea from one ship to other and also their firing capability on a Surface Inflatable Target. The fleet review culminated with all ships and aircraft saluting the CINCAN in formation.
The CINCAN appreciated the operational efficiency of Coast Guard in the Andaman and Nicobar Region and also highlighted that the day at sea on board Coast Guard ships was professionally rewarding. He also advised the officers and men to relentlessly work for achieving infallible Coastal Security through coordinated efforts.
