Port Blair, March 29: The Andaman Nicobar Union Territory Veterinary Council (ANUTVC) in association with the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Port Blair is organizing a two day Orientation Training Programme on “Radiology and Ultrasosnography “ for Veterinarians of these Islands. The inaugural function was held on Monday at Veterinary Hospital Complex, Junglighat. The Vice Chancellor, TANUVAS, Chennai, Dr. S.Thilagar inaugurated the training programme in the presence of the Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Smt R.Menaka.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Dr. S.Thilagar conveyed his wishes for the success of this programme. Smti R.Menaka expressed lauded the efforts of ANUTVC for organizing this training programme for the Veterinarians. She said Professional knowledge has to be regularly updated and the benefits should reach the farmers. Dr. R.Jayaprakash, Director of Clinics, TANUVAS, Chennai gave a brief account of the training module. The technical session got underway by Dr. R.Jayaprakash, Director of Clinics and Dr. Jeyaraja, Associate Professor, Madras Veterinary College.
Earlier, Dr. S.Shiv Kumar, Director, AH&VS welcomed the gathering. Dr. N.P. Singh, Joint Director, DAH&VS proposed the vote of thanks.
