Port Blair, March 29: The Indian Coast Guard Station, Mayabunder conducted a mass awareness drive at Karmatang village in coordination with the District Administration and Fisheries Department on Monday to create awareness among fishermen and local populace on coastal security. The Indian Coast Guard also highlighted the importance of the safety norms to be followed while fishing at sea particularly during the monsoon season. The Station Medical Officer briefed the gathering about basic first aids and emergency resuscitative measures. The community interaction was attended by officials from police, CID, forest, fisheries, IB, Pradhan and PRI members of Panchayat.
