Port Blair, Feb 10: The Standing Committee on Information Technology is scheduled to arrive at Port Blair on February 11, 2016 on a two-day visit to the Islands.
The itinerary of the committee includes discussion with DDG, Doordarshan Kendra Port Blair/DD(E) All India Radio Port Blair on overall functioning of Public Broadcasting services in A&N Islands, discussion with CGMT, A&N Telecom Circle on overall functioning of telecom facilities in A&N Islands and status of undersea cabling between mainland and A&N Islands and discussion with A&N Administration on implementation of IT projects in A&N Islands alongwith representatives of Department of Electronics & Information Technology on February 11, 2016.
The committee is scheduled to visit Common Service Centre (CSC) at Dairy Farm in Port Blair on February 12, 2016.
The programme of the committee also includes visit to places of historical importance and tourist interest in and around Port Blair.
On completion of visit, the committee will leave for the mainland on February 13, 2016.
