Port Blair, May 07: A multi-specialty screening and follow up medical camp with specialists from INHS Dhanvantari is being organised jointly by the Andaman and Nicobar Command and Directorate of Health Services for the Ex-Servicemen and local population at Campbell Bay in the MI Room of CGDHQ – 10 on 10 and 11 May 2012.
Appointed, follow-up and scheduled antenatal cases will be seen on 10 May 2012 and a full-fledged camp for the Islanders will be conducted on 11 May 2012 starting from 0830 hrs to 1430 hrs which will include services in EYE, Radiology and general OPD. Ultrasound scanning for pregnant mothers and sick patients will be conducted on the spot with state of the Art Portable Ultrasound Machine with Colour Doppler.
The Andaman and Nicobar Command has been carrying out such medical and preventive health camps frequently as part of its Community Outreach Programmes. Camps held in the past include locations as diverse as Neil Island, Car Nicobar, Long Island, Katchal, Nancowry Island, Hutbay, Diglipur and Campbell Bay. INHS Dhanvantari, has always been at the forefront of all the health related activities of the Command.
The Directorate of Health Services has been participating in these camps on an equal footing, providing doctors, much needed equipment, medical stores and personnel for conduct of medical camps in these far flung islands.
