Port Blair, Jan 24: The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair is organizing a Block Level Inter-Youth Club Football Knock-out Tournament in association with Sagar Club, Bhatu Basti at GSSS Bhatu Basti playground. The tournament got underway on Saturday and will continue till Jan 26.
The Councillor, Ward no. 23, Mr Sanjay Meshack, inaugurated the tournament today in the presence of Mr Rama Nathan, Ex-Samity Member, Mr Jag Narayan, Ex-Pradhan, Garacharma-II and Mr Gaya Prasad, a senior citizen. Altogether, 12 teams are participating in the tournament. Mr Kundan Lal, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair welcomed the gathering. Mr S.Rajendran, President of Sagar Club, Bathu Basthi proposed the vote of thanks.
The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan has been striving to bring out hidden talent among rural youth in sports, provide them basic minimum platform, create sports culture among them and facilitate identifying rural talents in different area , further such talented youths can be recommended to Sports Authority of India (SAI) and other reputed Sports Bodies for further development of their talents.
