Port Blair, Dec 26: The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be organizing a Mass Demonstration on 30th December, 2015 at various places of these islands. At Port Blair, the Mass Demonstration will be held in front of the Secretariat Gate from 4 pm to 5.15 pm as part of the Nation-wide programme demanding immediate settlement of issues raised by National Joint Council of Action(NJCA), New Delhi.
The NJCA has submitted a twenty-six point Charter of Demands to the Cabinet Secretary, Govt. of India on 10th December, 2015 which includes (i) Re-computing the minimum wage (ii) Revision of Pay Matrix (iii) Revision of the rate of increment to 5% (iv) Fill up all vacant posts (v) MACP to be given on promotional hierarchy (vi) Ensure 5 financial up-gradations in service carrier (vii) Upgradation of LGCs as HGCs (viii) Regularisation of Contract/Casual and Daily Rated employees (ix) Extend the defined benefit pension scheme to all those recruited after 1.1.2004 (x) Set up Group of Ministers’ Committee to consider the anomalies etc.
The NJCA has demanded improvement in various recommendations and rejection of all retrograde recommendations made by 7th Central Pay Commission. The Association will be submitting a 26-point Charter of Demands to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration for its onward transmission to the Cabinet Secretary, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
