Caddlegunj 28 April: In collaboration with Pillar Health center, SURABI – ANDAMAN organized Psycho Social Measures programme for self help groups and a free medical camp of General Medicine, Random Blood Sugar Testing, Maleria Test for the people of Ferrargunj Teshil with the financial assistance from HCDI Pune at SURABI Campus, Caddlegunj today . All these tests were conducted with the 1doctor and six staff nurses from Pillar Health center, Port Blair. Total number of patients checked was 125.
In her speech the chief guest , Rev. Sr. Rajini appreciated the camp the free medical camp organised by SURABI and said that such camps are required at different intervels at different villages, adding she said, this was one of different camp because it had sessions like psychosocial measures and general health sessions. Sessions on Psychosocial measures included affective emotional maturity, parenting, family management and hygiene. Apart from these, Sr. Rajini spoke of seasonal diseases that are common now on account of seasonal change. She suggested ways and means to prenvent from being affected by seasonal diseases.
Sr. Rajini further said that such camps are needed for the BPL families of every locality, as these families are shy of going to hospitals or nursing homes.
Earlier, Fr. Jesu Manickam, Director of SURABI welcomed the gathering while Ms. Vimala thanked the Pillar Health center team who had come at our request to conduct this Psycho social measures programme and a free medical camp for the people of this locality.
