Port Blair, Oct 28: A police Jawan posted at Tillangchong Island was evacuated by ANC on 27 Oct 2015.
A phone call was received from SP Carnicobar at 1625 hrs, requesting for evacuation of a Police constable of Police outpost Tillangchong who had been bitten by a poisonous snake. Medical Officer at Naval Station Kardip alongwith Naval personnel on board a Fast Interceptor Craft (FIC) immediately cast off for Tillangchong Island, braving the torrential rains and low visibility. In spite of the rough weather, they evacuated the patient to Kamorta late in the night on 27 Oct. On arrival at Kamorta the patient was administered Anti Venom treatment at CHC,Kamorta.
At 4.45 am on 28 Oct 15, one MI-17 helicopter from Carnic evacuated the patient to Air Force station Carnicobar, from where the patient was transferred to the waiting Dornier air craft, which immediately took off for Port Blair. The Dornier landed at Port Blair at 0750hr and the patient was shifted to a waiting ambulance which took the patient to GB Pant hospital for further treatment.
Commendable job by ANC, this would pump in more energy into the below officer cadre personnel to work in hard areas comfortably only for we Islanders safety.
