Port Blair, Oct 11: Indian Coast Guard has conducted Special Community Interaction Programme on 10 Oct 15 at Kamartang, Mayabunder to spread awareness on Coastal Security issues. A medical specialist camp is also organized in association with Andaman Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences. The medical camp specialists include Medical, Dermatologist, Pediatrician and Gynecologist. Coast Guard has arranged for supply of free medicines to the people with support of DHS and ANIIMS.
The special awareness programme includes helicopter rescue demonstration, demo on safety and survival equipment, medical lectures and distress drills at sea. The state level Coastal Security exercise coordinated by Coast Guard is scheduled in Nov 15 and the special drive aims at generating awareness as well inclusion of the local population in the security matrix of the Islands.
The next stage of the Special Community Interaction Programme and Medical Specialist Camp will be held on 11 Oct 15 at Durgapur, said PRO CG.
