Port Blair, Oct 08: ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, CIARI, N&M Andaman organized a three days training programme on “Pre & Post stocking management in Fish fingerlings production” at Swadesh Nagar Gram Panchayat. The training was inaugurated by Shri. Jayanta Nag, Pradhan, Swadesh nager, in his inaugural speech he lauded the efforts of KVK in organizing trainings on sought topics and wanted guidance of technical experts of KVK on new technologies for development of local farmers. Dr. Shailesh Kumar, SMS (Fisheries) briefed about the three days training and urged the farmers and participants to adopt scientific method of fish farming which will help them to encourage fish production in a sustainable way.
Experts of KVK had detailed description on Scientific fish farming practices, rearing of fish fry in paddy field, methods of fish feed preparation and use of broad bed furrow system in flood prone area during the sessions. Visuals were also showed to the participants on paddy cum fish farming.A total of 27 farmers participated in the training programme. The training was organisedunder the guidance of Dr.B. L. Kasinathand Dr. Nagesh Ram and under the supervision of Dr.S. Dam Roy, Director,CIARI, Port Blair.
Earlier, Shri. D. Basantia, SMS (Horticulture) welcomed the Chief Guest and the participants andDr. PoojaKapoor, SMS (Home Science) proposed the vote of thanks.
