Port Blair, Sept 15: The Department of Civil Supplies & Consumers Affairs have issued instruction to the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and all LPG Distributor to take all necessary action to ensure un-interrupted distribution of LPG cylinders at the door-steps of concerned consumers and strict compliance of the delivery date & time schedule published in the newspaper by the distributors.
The Enforcement Wing of this Directorate shall conduct surprise inspection in and around South Andaman to ascertain as to whether the LPG Distributors comply all the guidelines framed under the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply & Distribution) Order, 2000 and abide to the delivery schedule of LPG Distributors.
Any deviation in the delivery schedule without genuine reason shall be viewed seriously and legal action as deemed fit as prescribed under the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply & Distribution) Order,2000 framed under the Consumer Protection Act,1955 shall be imposed against the Distributor.
It is appealed to all the LPG consumers that in case of any complaints in this regard, such as non-delivery of LPG cylinders as per scheduled date & time, denial of door-delivery etc., the same may be brought to notice in writing to the Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Port Blair.
