Port Blair, Sept 08: A group of candidates those who have appeared for the Lower Divisional Clerk examination at Naval Component Command assembled at the Raj Niwas gate today and alleged manipulation in the overall selection process and demanded the Lt Governor to re-conduct the examination for the aforesaid post of Lower Divisional Clerk.
However after not getting proper response from Raj Niwas, the candidates went to meet a lawyer this evening, it is learnt.
One can understand the level of manipulation by the fact that in the list of selected candidates after interview, three roll numbers popped up, which were not there in the list of candidates, who had cleared written test. The candidates with roll number 14LDC 1699, 14LDC 2512, 14LDC 3790, as per the first list did not qualify the written test but their names appeared along with the 42 other candidates, who have qualified interview.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the candidates alleged that OMR answer sheets were not used in the written exam but still the answer sheets of nearly 3 to 4 thousands candidates were checked and results were published within two days, which appears little fishy.
“The interview for the mainlander and local candidates were conducted separately. Why this kind of disparity?” questioned a candidate.
The Naval Component Commander had recently advertised for nearly 34 posts of LDC in which 19 posts are reserved for General, 9 for OBC, 4 for SC and 2 posts are reserved for ST candidates. The typing test in this regard is scheduled on 09 September 2015.
When cross checked the the Command PRO, Colonel Yogesh Sharma assured Andaman Sheekha that they will bring out the fact very shortly.
