Port Blair, Sept 04: An awareness programme on the three major Central Government Social Security Schemes viz. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana(PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyothi Bima Yojana(PMJJBY) and the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) was held in JNRM on 4th Sept. 2015.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. N. Francis Xavier, Principal, JNRM read out the message from Hon’ble Minister of Human Resource Development calling upon the teachers to enroll themselves, their family members and the members of communities around them under these Social Security Schemes on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. He called upon the teaching community to spread the message among the students also so that all are covered under one or other schemes.
Shri.Md.Aslam, Officer of Axis Bank explained the nature and modalities of enrolment under the schemes. Dr.Swapan Kr. Biswas, Associate Professor in Political Science explained how the schemes could be of great help to those in the un-organized sector and called upon the teaching community to encourage others to join the schemes.
A total of 72 members expressed their wish to enroll in the schemes.
