Port Blair, Sept 04: National Nutrition Week is celebrated by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Campbell Bay. The week long programme began from 1st September and ended on 7th September to aware the people about important tips of their health and well-being.
Through the national nutrition week campaign people from all over the world can be educated to maintain their look and feel better. The week long programme will be covered all anganwadi and SHGs to on Value of Nutrition. Various competitions like essay, drawing will be conducting for creating mass awareness.
The theme of the nutrition week is “better Nutrition: key to development”. The week long programme, 3rd September observed Nutrition Awareness Day. In this regard a seminar conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra at Vijay Nagar Sr. Secondary School, Campbell. In this programme about 120 youths and volunteers were participated.
On this occasion Smti Aisha Bibi, GTT and Principal I/c was the Chief Guest and he stressed to enhance the nutrition practice among the community. People should be aware of their food groups and balance diet from which they can get good nutrition’s things. A healthy person should include the whole grains, Fruits, Vegetable, Fat-free or milk products, meat, Fish, Nuts, seeds etc.
On this occasion Smti Viaya Laxmi, GTT also address about the need of nutrition. While Smti Rebathi , ANM, Joginder Nagar also address about the high nutrition for people and he also lecture on nutrition related education and balance diet to be healthy .
The programme Shri Joseph John, District Youth Coordinator welcomed the gathering and briefed about the aims and objectives of the programme and National Youth Corps Volunteers Shri Papa Rao proposed the vote of thanks.
