Port Blair, Aug 6: The 69th Independence Day function will be organized at Netaji Stadium on Aug 15, 2015. The Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands will hoist the Tricolour (National Flag) at 9 am and take salute of the Independence Day Parade.
To ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the Independence Day celebration on 15th August, 2015, the Andaman & Nicobar Police has requested the general public to follow certain instructions and cooperate with the Police personnel deployed on duty at Netaji Stadium in connection with security arrangements. Accordingly, the general public have been advised not to bring umbrellas, Ink pen, water bottle, eatable items, Knife, Gas lighter, remote control keys & any type of bags, not to wear black colour clothes for attending the programme, submit camera/video cameras for proper security check, park vehicles at the allotted parking place, submit Jungle boots, Gum boots for security check, keep mobile phones on switched off when seated near VIP box, not to panic if anything goes wrong during the ceremony, allow children, senior citizens and women to move first in case of any emergency and not to carry plastic flags and caps.
