Diglipur, July 12: A three days training programme on plant propagation techniques and cultivation of fruits at Sansad Ardash Village, Ramnagar,Diglipur by ICAR-Krish iVigyan Kendra ,Nimbudera concluded with good response of farming community. The training was inaugurated by Gram Pradhan at community Hall, Ramnagar in which 52 farmers registered for training programmes.
Shri DebabrataBasantia, SMS, Horticulture described Propagation and cultivation techniques of various fruits with practical demonstrations on grafting, budding and air layering of fruit crops. Management measures for disease & pest control, preservation of fruits and its proper marketing was also presented by him. Smt. S. Manju, Agriculture Asst., Shri N. P Mallick, Surveyor and Shri P. Santosh Kumar, Agriculture Field Assistant of Agriculture department, Diglipur attended the training programme wherein Smt. S. Manju gave detail accounts on various subsidy schemes of Agriculture department andShri. N. P Mallick briefed on soil conversation measures. Dr.Shailesh Kumar SMS (Fishery) discussed scope and methods of fish seed production for fresh water fishes.Shri B.L Meena, SMS (Agromony) delivered lecture on importance of fruits in human nutrition. In the valedictory function Shri Pradhan Ramangar appreciated the effort of KVK in organising the training & practical demonstrations on plant propagation techniques and urged farmers to use acquired knowledge and skills in their field.
Earlier Dr.Shailesh Kumar welcomed the chief guest and participants whereas Shri B. L. Meena proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme was organised under guidance of Dr.Nagesh Ram, Programme Co-ordinator, KVK, Port Blair and supervision of Dr. S. Dam Roy, Director, CIARI, Port Blair.
