Port Blair, June 16: Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament while on tour to North & Middle Andaman has interacted with PRI Members and the villagers of Baratang area, on 13.06.2015. During discussion Shri Ray has highlighted about the various achievements like Medical College, ANISHI Scheme, National Highway, connecting Bridge Chatham & Bambooflat, Middle strait and Humphry strait and also the 1 year achievement of BJP Government .
He also given awareness of the 3 schemes recently announced by the Prime Minister like, Pradhan Mantri Jan Suraksha Yojana (PMJSY), Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Yojana (PMJJY), Atal Pension Yojna.
Further on demands of the villagers, Shri Ray visited proposed area of connecting Bridge at Nilambur Jetty and consulted the representative of Chaitanya Project Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. While discussing, Mr. Abhishek, the representative of consultancy expressed that they are preparing alignments on the option-2 of the projects, in which some residential areas are affected.
The affected persons/house holders requested the Member of Parliament for diversion of alignment so as to avoid the existing residential house and allotted lands. The consultant informed that the alignment area of proposed Bridge not only affecting the house and lands of the villagers but also apprehension of Forest reserved area. He further informed to remove such all bottlenecks a joint visit of DFO, N & M Andaman, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat and Executive Engineer, Rangat will be organized very soon.
However keeping in view of the sentiments of the affected house holders, Shri Ray has made a written request to Executive Engineer, APWD, CD-1 Rangat to explore possibilities from diversion of alignments considering the grievances of the effected villagers.
