Port Blair, May 14: The president of BJP’s State unit Mr. Vishal Jolly today said that the party is closely monitoring the election process of CCS very closely.
During a function organized this morning at Shyama Prasad Mukherji Bhawan today Jolly said that the BJP has submitted certain suggestions to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies A&N Islands that are imperative to be maintained for a fair and smooth conduct of elections.
He said that during the last election to the managing committee held in June 2012 the members of the CCS Ltd. had faced quite few difficulties while casting their votes. Hence the BJP has proposed that the Electoral Roll, Voter List, membership list must be prepared area-wise and Polling Booths also must be set-up according in order to accommodate the voters at their respective polling stations only so that bogus voting can be avoided and polling can be conducted smoothly.
During the programme the Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Garacharama-II and prominent Congress Party leader, Shri Rajesh Pal Govind, along with Up-Pradhan, Shri Ponnu Swamy and a bunch of other PRI members of the area has formally joined the BJP, today at Port Blair.
At a function organized this morning at Shyama Prasad Mukherji Bhawan, the local party HQs at Port Blair, the State President of the BJP Shri Vishal Jolly welcomed the leaders into the party fold.
Further Roop Kunwar,Garacharama-II (Ward No.1) Mohd. Azharuddiin, Ward No.9 Jamna Das, Ward No.5 Nirmala Singh, Ward No.7 and Eswari Amma, Ward No.8 are also among the PRI members who have joined the BJP today in the presence of former senior-most Congress Party leader Mr. Jag Narayan, who had joined the BJP well before the General Elections last year.
Besides, Advocate Rakesh Pal Govind, Secretary Bar Association of A&N Islands has also joined the BJP today, the party said.
