Port Blair, Apr 26: Rotary Club of Port Blair organised an impressive programme on the occasion of District Governor’s official visit (Rotary International District 3291), at Hotel Fortune Resort on 25/4/15. Dr. Dinesh, President, Rotary Club of Port Blair gave a welcome speech addressing the visiting dignitaries.
The meeting started with a power point presentation covering all the important projects throughout the Rotary year 2014-15. It was a unique presentation highlighting the Rotary Club’s innovative projects which were beneficial to the Islanders especially the underprivileged ones, the dignitaries on and off the dais highly appreciated the programme, Rotary President, Dr.Dinesh took the Rotary activities beyond the geographical territories of Andaman and also started new ventures not experienced earlier said Rtn. Pinaki Prasad Ghosh, District Governor.
District Governor expressed his satisfaction for all the activities done by the club and he also offered some suggestions, like formation of RCC (Rotary Community Corps), so that project in rural area can be covered with ease and can also concentrate on Adult Literacy Programme. Rtn.Pinaki Prasad Ghosh, released the annual project activities book with audit report.
Rtn Ajoy Kumar Law, District Secretary delivered a speech appreciating the club activities and also elaborated the forthcoming events to be held in Kolkata in the last week of June and requested rotary members to attend it. Vote of thanks was proposed by Rtn. Amit Goenka. Rtn. Abhijit Agarwal coordinated the entire event.
The District Governor Rtn. Pinaki Prasad Ghosh along with Dr.Dinesh, President, Rotary Club of Port Blair accompanied by Rtn. Amit Goenka, PP Rtn Mohd Jadwet, Rtn Rajesh Anand, met The Lt Governor, Lt. Gen (Retd) A.K. Singh, PVSM AVSM SM VSM , Andaman & Nicobar Islands at Raj Niwas as a courtesy call and had an interactive session.
