Port Blair, Apr 12: The Government Senior Secondary School , Sabari Junction celebrated its Annual Day on 10th April 2015 in the school campus. The Program was marked by spectacular cultural programmes comprising of Folk Dances , Patriotic Songs , Skit & Self composed Poem recitation by the students of the School. On this occasion third Edition of Schools Annual Magazine – “Reflection ” was released by Shri Ajay Rai, DySP, Rangat who was the Guest of Honour in the function. Earlier Principal of the School Shri G.Shara Chandran welcomed the gathering and presented the school Annual Report.
He highlighted the special initiatives being taken by the School for improvement of speaking and reading skill among the students of classes VI – VIII in English. He also informed the gathering about the various environment related programs being conducted by the school from time to time with a special mention of continues monitoring of Energy consumption in the school to reduce the electricity consumption.
The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Smti. Rita Banerjee, Deo, Rangat by Lighting the Traditional Lamp. In her address she lauded the effort of Students, Teachers and Principal for the upliftment of the teaching and learning environment in the school with a special focus on environment sensitivity among the students. She underlined the Green Initiatives taken up by the School and the Programs conducted under the “Swach Bharat Abhiyan”. On this occasion, prizes were distributed to the Winners of Various competitions and Kumari Shristi Mazumder of class VIII was adjudged and awarded with Best Student of the Year Trophy. The Program concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Shri. S.P.Mishra , Staff Secretary of the School.
