Port Blair, Apr 07: The Pradhan of Tushnabad Gram Panchayat today cried foul over the mistakes in the Survey process of villagers, with Tsunami submerged land for inclusion of their names for AAY Family Identity Card.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Halder today said that presently Panchayat wise survey is going on to identify Tsunami submerged land holders for AAY Family Identity Card under AAY Scheme of Civil Supplies but it has been observed that the basic list on which the whole survey is conducted is having blunders.
“The list which the civil supply department has collected and following is basically of those persons who succeeded to collect the compensation from the administration in lieu submerged land. I think the villagers who have not got the opportunity to collect the compensation due to joint mutation of land or any other dispute are more sufferer as they have not got any financial help from administration and struggling with their livelihood, they mainly deserves inclusion in this scheme along with the beneficiaries who got compensation. Ironically the most sufferer are left out by civil supply as the list they follow are only of the villagers who received compensation,” Halder pointed out.
The Pradhan of Tushnaband has requested the Lt. Governor to direct the Civil Supplies Department to include name of those people also for AAY FIC, who hasn’t got the compensation from administration and struggling for their livelihood.
