Port Blair, Apr 01: A fire was reported from G B Pant Hospital’s Mortuary area this morning. According to reports the fire broke out near a Transformer due to short circuit. It is believed due to present of dry grasses and leaves minor spark took the shape of major fire but the fire was controlled in no time by Fire Service Jawans.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha the Fire Service Jawans were intimated about the fire at 11.24 hrs and the fire was brought under total control by 11.55 am. Staffs of Electricity Department also acted swiftly and helped Fire Service Jawans to control fire. Due to combine efforts the Transformer was saved.
