Port Blair, 26 Mar 2015: ISMAT (Islanders Social Movement for Awareness and Training), in association with Ummat Public School, Middle Point, organized “Spruce up … reinvent your Personality”, a soft skill training programme for girls and boys for ages 9-16 years. The training programme comprised of soft skills and group activities and aimed at the overall personality development of the participating children. General etiquette, tips on public speaking, budgeting pocket money, importance of teamwork, environment, awareness on good touch and bad touch, and workshop on self defence were some of the topics.
There were 110 students from 10 schools who participated in the programme and they had a very good learning and growing experience. The valedictory function took place on the 25th of March, in which Mr. Devinder Singh Nijjar, Secretary (Education), was the Chief Guest.
Mr. S. N. Misra, Secretary (Social Welfare), was the Guest of Honour at the event. The welcome address was given by Mrs. Rubina Siddiqui, President, ISMAT and Manager of UPS, while the vote of thanks was proposed by the Joint Secretary, Mrs. Mehwash Jadwet, said a communication received here today.
