Port Blair, mar 03: In terms of Section 10 of Chapter V of the Unorganised Workers Social Security Act, 2008, the registration of workers under the unorganised sector shall be undertaken tehsil-wise in each Tehsil Office at Diglipur, Mayabunder and Rangat in N&M Andaman District.
The Form-I for registration is made available at Tehsil Office, Block Office, PRIs Office etc. so as to make it easy for the workers of the unorganised sector to obtain the registration forms. The workers under unorganised sectors are requested to obtain the prescribed form from these offices and submit to the concerned Tehsildars for getting themselves registered under the Unorganised Workers Social Security Act, 2008.
As per the Section 2(m) of the Unorganised Workers Social Security Act, 2008 ”Unorganised Worker” means a home-based worker, self-employed worker or a wage worker in the unorganised sector and includes a worker in the organised sector who is not covered by any of the Acts .
