Port Blair, Feb 04: The Tourism Department of A&N Administration is organizing Flea Market on 07th February 2015 at Marina Park, from 4 pm to 10 pm. The objective for setting up such Flea Market is to promote the local culture, cuisine art & handicrafts etc and also to encourage the participation of the local artists and talents and provide them a platform of visibility in front of the entire Islands. The Flea Market will have separate corners like kid’s corner, food corner, information corner, fun games, art & handicrafts corner etc. Participants can exchange or sell personal goods and belongings like books, music CDs, clothes, small furniture, accessories, jewellery, appliances, crockery, decorative items, hand paintings, utility products homemade local pickles/masala items etc. Individuals, Self help groups, NGOs, Private Firm/Agencies, Government Departments, and cultural Associations are invited to perform/display various art forms, handicrafts, food items etc.
The Tourism department being the nodal department will allot space to Vendors, Individuals, Cultural Associations, Self help groups, NGOs etc on rent free basis. Interested participants are requested to collect the participation form from Directorate of Tourism and details can be obtained over telephone No 03192-244081. The filled in application form should reach to Tourism department office on or before 6th January 2015 till 5 pm.
