Diglipur, Jan 21: The case of Diglipur’s Venison Seizure is becoming more and more interesting with the disclosure of Forest Officials that nearly three people were present inside the Jeep of Electricity Department, when the Forest Officials were chasing the Jeep. Later only the driver had come forward for surrender.
Highly placed sources told Andaman Sheekha that a Junior Level officer of Electricity Department was reportedly involved in sale of venison in Diglipur region illegally and the trap was actually laid for him.
The suspicion grows stronger as during chase the Jeep entered inside KHEP Dam, where Electricity Department has good base. The question remains unanswered that who were other two persons sitting inside the Jeep?
However as per drivers’ statement the JE of the region Mr. Swapan Kumar Roy had sent him to check lines at Kishorinagar Route after 8.30 pm. When he was returning two people asked him to stop the jeep and requested a lift. According to the driver they also loaded two bags inside the Jeep.
Although the Forest officials have found one bag the other bag is still missing. Mr. Ajay Kumar I.F.S now suspects that the other bag containing Venison might have been dumped on the way by them.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha Mr. Ajay Kumar, DFO said that during investigation the driver has said that he doesn’t know who the other two persons were but he can identify them if brought infront of him.
