Hut Bay, Jan 19: The Zonal Library of Hut Bay was damaged by tsunami in 2004 and since then people of Hut Bay were demanding for a new library.
The matter was initially taken up during present Lt. Governor’s first visit to Hut Bay in 2013 but nothing much happened on the ground.
During Lt. Governor’s last visit to Hut Bay on 24 December 2014 the matter was again taken up by PRI members of the area with the Lt. Governor. Considering the importance of a Library the Lt. Governor had immediately directed the SDPO Havelock, Mr. B Saigal to coordinate the issue with all the departments and inaugurate the library within one month.
Following LG’s direction the SDPO of Havelock, Mr. B Saigal took up the very promptly with all the departments and within one month, he got the Library building ready with the joint efforts of all the concerned departments like APWD, Electricity Departments and PRI members etc.
The Zonal Library of Hut Bay has now resumed functioning from today with its inauguration by the DySP, Havelock, Mr. B. Saigal as chief guest.
