On behalf of the people of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, I extend warm greetings to all ranks and the families of the Indian Army, on the occasion of the Army Day.
The Indian Army has played a sterling role in conflicts against external aggressors and has upheld national interests whilst tackling internal security challenges. In safeguarding our core areas the Army operates in the most difficult terrains, altitudes and weather conditions.
Since its formal induction into these Islands on 07 Nov 91, the Army Component of the Andaman & Nicobar Command has made exemplary contribution towards strengthening the security and defence of these Islands. Our Army
personnel have been at the forefront in humanitarian missions in these Islands and stand ready for any challenges that the Islands may have to tackle.
The Indian Army stands tall as a professional, apolitical and humanitarian force that the nation can be proud of. On this important day, I extend my heartiest felicitations to all officers, troops and Defence Civilians of the Indian Army and their families. We in Andaman & Nicobar Islands feel safe and secure by your presence, competence and commitment.
