Port Blair, Nov 27: The volunteers of the National Service Scheme launched cleanliness drive in the campus of Model School yesterday. The members of the newly constituted unit of NSS cleaned the campus area enthusiastically under the supervision of the Program officer Ramesh Kumar Singh.
This year the Ministry of youth affairs and Sports has decided to introduce NSS in some senior secondary schools also. The School committee has been constituted under the leadership of the chairman Dr. Dheeraj Kumar, who is the Principal of the school. Earlier speaking about the role and activities of NSS to the volunteers, the Program officer R.K.Singh said that social service is the social responsibility of each individual, and to inculcate these values among the students the scheme has been introduced to schools. The unit is going to adopt a locality to carry out activities for the welfare of the people soon.
