Mayabunder, Oct 19: The Andaman and Nicobar police has registered a case in Police Station Mayabunder for violating PAT regulation to shoot a documentary film ‘Organic Jarawa’.
According to reports it has been found that some local residents in Middle Andaman were involved in helping a foreign documentary maker to enter inside Jarawa Reserve and shoot the documentary.
“We have registered a case today after receiving a complaint and soon appropriate action will be taken,” the Superintendent of Police, North and Middle Andaman Mr. Santoosh Kumar Meena told Andaman Sheekha today.
Highly placed sources told Andaman Sheekha that a few locals including some people from Karen Community have been identified, who have helped the foreign documentary maker to enter inside Jarawa Reserve.
“According to Jarawa people they had entered inside Jarawa Region in the month of ‘Todala’, which is somewhere in March and April,” the SP added.
