Port Blair, Apr 01: The Port Blair Municipal Council often publishes press releases to warn Islanders against dumping of construction materials on road but it seems that these restrictions are only meant for General public and government departments have full rights to dump construction materials anywhere in city. Two examples of such act, could be seen near Shadipur’s Postal Colony and Corbyn’s Cove entrance road.
In these places APWD and APWD contractors have dumped huge quantity of construction materials. Photographs show that atleast 10 percent of the road has been covered by these construction materials and there is no room for pedestrians. Why this double standard?
