Port Blair, Sept 16: A private truck today slammed into the shutter of a Private shop after hitting two private vehicles at Prem Nagar Junction, early this morning.
According to reports available here, the private truck was shifting the Idol of Goddess Durga from Haddo area to Bazaar area at around 2.00 AM, when suddenly the driver of the truck detected failure of brakes.
The experienced driver applied presence of mind and instead of going down toward Nirmala School he took the vehicle little uphill, towards Carmel School direction, on the left. As he had expected the vehicle stopped but it started rolling back. While rolling back the vehicle caused damages to private vehicles and a private shop but anyhow the Truck was brought under control by the driver. Luckily no one suffered any injury in this incident.
