Port Blair, Aug 27: GoAir – one of India’s fastest growing airlines has offered air travel concession to residents of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Exclusively tailored, promotional fares are made available for journeys commencing from Port Blair. Islanders can avail a 30% concession on base fares of GoAir flights throughout the year. GoAir is also happy to announce the resumption of services to and from Port Blair effective 1st October 2014.
GoAir’s Vice President – Airports, Customer Services & Nodal Officer, Mr.Kamal Kikani, thanked the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman a Nicobar Islands Lt Gen (Retd) Mr. A.K.Singh for his and the Administration’s active support. Mr. Kikani said, “It is indeed very satisfying to make our humble contribution in the development of Port Blair as one of India’s preferred tourism destinations by connecting it to several Indian cities on the mainland. There is immense scope to increase the tourist traffic to the islands leading to the development of the local economy, employment opportunities, support services and quality of life in general. We’ve received a lot of encouragement from the Honourable Member of Parliament Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray. GoAir is pleased to reciprocate with a 30% concession on base fares throughout the year for all Andaman & Nicobar residents. This shall further enable them air travel purpose, be it for business, education, healthcare or for leisure and visiting friends and family in mainland cities.”
Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament expressed his gratitude to GoAir, “We’re extremely delighted by the special scheme offered by GoAir and are impressed by their warm hospitality and punctual services that are delivered to the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands by the airline. We invite them to look at developing additional departures from Port Blair to connect the islands with rest of the country and also to extend the hours of operation to late evening at Port Blair’s Veer Savarkar Airport.”
GoAir currently operates flights to Chennai and Kolkata which further connect to various mainland destinations like Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Ranchi. The daily flights shall resume from October, 1st 2014.
