Port Blair, Aug 22: A meeting of the left-out categories of teachers viz., Head Master (Middle & Primary), Librarian, Craft Instructor, Physical Education Teacher, Band Master, Asst. Music Teacher, PSRTs, Lab. Assistant etc. will be held at 4 p.m. on 23.08.2014 (Saturday) at the Hotel A.C.C., Mohanpura, Port Blair to discuss on the future course of action to be taken by the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association on the issue of grant of Part-B upgraded grade pay to the above categories of teachers. While implementing the recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission, the A & N Administration refused to extend the upgraded Pay under Part B of the Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008 to the above categories of teachers while other categories of teachers have been given the said benefit. Since then, these categories of teachers are deprived of their rightful benefit of upgraded pay under Part B even though the same was granted to their counterparts working in other union territories including Delhi and central government schools. A large number of teachers working in the schools of Port Blair and South Andaman areas who are deprived of the above benefit will attend the meeting.
