Port Blair, Aug 18: In a major fire accident at Port Blair on Monday afternoon, all rooms on the first floor of a wooden building were completely gutted while rest all room suffered serious damages. However there is no report of any causality.
According to information received here the fire was reported at around 12.20 pm from a wooden house, situated at Phoenix Bay area of Port Blair city.
Soon Fire Brigade was informed and after nearly two hours of fire fighting the fire was brought under control.
According to initial report the cause of fire is believed to be short circuit.
The residents of the gutted house were Mr. R Mohan, Prop: Nagash Arts & Advertising, V Kannan, Prop: V Kannan Arts & Marble Works, S Kumaresan, Prop: New Queen Tailors, Grewal Automobiles & Surya Beauty Parlour.
