Port Blair, Aug 1: Pathanjali Yogpeeth (Trust) Haridwar is celebrating a nationwide ‘jadi booti saptah’ from Aug 3 to 9, 2014 to mark the birth anniversary of Acharya Blakrishnaji. The local unit of Patanjali Yog Samiti will also be celebrating the week in these islands to bring about awareness about the local medicinal plants for the benefit of the general public. In this connection, a programme is being organized at Junglighat school on Aug 3, from 2 to 5.30 pm wherein medicinal plants, products, books and CDs will be on display. Knowledge about the use of various flowers, fruits, leaves and roots of medicinal plants will be explained by Patanjali volunteers/members.
On Aug 4, on the occasion of birth day of Acharya Shri Balakrishnaji, medicinal plants will be distributed and planted at V.K.V. School, from 4.30 am to 6.15 am to commemorate the completion of five years of yoga classes at V.K.V. School by Patanjali Yog Samithi. Distribution and planting of medicinal plants will be conducted in K.V. -1 and other school and institutions in these Islands during the week. The general public have been asked to avail this golden opportunity.
The Patanjali Yog Samiti here is conducting free regular yoga classes at Community Hall New Pahar Gaon, Saraswati Shishu Mandir PatthaRgadda, V.K.V, School Lamba line, Community hall Anarkali Basti, Sai baba temple, Bambooflat and various places in Little Andaman island, a communication said.
