Port Blair, July 31: Ten persons have been arrested from a gambling den near Gandhi Market, Mohanpura on Sunday (27th July) and Rs.6,740/-gambling money seized from them.
Receiving credible information, the District Special team comprising of ASI M. Abdul Rasheed, HC Surya Narayan, Constables Ashish Mallick, and Nagveni under the supervision of DySP (SA) Shri Mohd. Aslam, raided the gambling den near Gandhi Market, Mohanpura and arrested ten persons namely P. Ibrahim, (38) yrs Auto Driver, r/o Phoenix, V.Aji Kumar, (40) yrs Auto Driver, r/o Anarkali Basti, Pradeep Das, (43) yrs., r/o Near Megapode, V. Murugeshan, (37) yrs Pvt. Mechanic, r/o Pathargudda, В. Suri, (25) yrs Pvt. Mechanic, r/o Gandhi Market, R. Raju, (23) yrs Pvt. Worker, r/o Haddo behind Telgu Milium, Ram Singh, (34) yrs Pvt. Welder, r/o Gandhi Market, K. Naidu, (21) yrs Pvt. Labour, r/o Anarkali Basti, Ramana, (29) yrs Auto Driver, r/o Аli, (35) yrs Pvt. Painter, r/o Phoenix Bay from the den. Rs.5,300/- board money allongwith 52 Nos. playing cards were seized from the spot and Rs.1440/-seized from thelir personal search. The gamblers have been booked under the A&N Gambling Regulation.
