Port Blair, July 21: On 20/07/14, I/C Dog Squad, HC/Mukesh Charan along with Narcotics sniffer dogs of A & N Police were on checking duty at Airport Cargo Terminal. In the mean time, dog Jeffry identified one gunny bag containing Narcotics. This information was passed to SHO Central Crime Station. Immediately, a police team of CCS under the supervision of Shri. S.K. Goswami, Dy. Supdt. of Police (CID) laid a trap and apprehended a person who collected the said cargo. After observing all codal formalities, the said gunny bag was checked and the police party recovered 500 grams Ganja wrapped in a plastic bag. The recovered Ganja was seized by the police and the person collected the cargo, namely Satyajit Biwas (25 yrs) S/o Sudhanshu Biswas R/o Prem Nagar was arrested from the spot after observing all codal formalities. A case under appropriate sections of law has been registered against him. Further investigation is in progress
