Port Blair, Mar 28: To mark the World Theatre Day, the Department of Art and Culture, A&N Administration in association with South Zone Cultural Centre, GoI and local PRI members organized a programme “Remembering Tagore’s” on 27th March 2012 in R.K.Pur Community Hall, Hut Bay on 27th March 2012 .On this occasion local artistes presented Rabindra Sangeet, recitation, dances and short play etc. ‘Bodhu Nirjatan’, a one-act Play written by Manjusree Bairagi and directed by Jhuma Majumdar was the highlight of the evening.
Smti. Namita Mallik , Pramukh, Panchayat Samity, Little Andaman was the Chief Guest on the occasion .
Earlier , Mr. Sudhir Biswas, Ex-Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad presented welcome address and Ms Kuldeep Kaur, Librarian, National Memorial proposed vote of thanks. Mr. Raisuddin Gayen, member, SZCC highlighted the history of the World Theatre Day in his address. Smti.Rita Biswas , Principal, SSS RK Pur was also present on the occasion.
