Port Blair, July 06: The South Andaman district police team have seized 178 pieces of Padaukplank/ buttons of various sizes alongwith the carrying Truck and arrested four persons from Dudh Line in Port Blair on 01st July. The police team comprising of ASI M.A. Rasheed, HC Sanjay Kujur, PC AshisMallick, PC Mohd. Imran, PC RakeshToppo, PC M. Raja Rao and PC Nagaveni on a specific information raided and seized the above timber from M. Bhoominathan (45) yrs. owner/ driver of truck AN01/A-4747, r/o Kamraj Nagar, (2) Ashique Ali (52) yrs., Pvt. Businessmanr/o Dudh line, (3) Robin Bepari (36)yrs., worker of AshiqueAli r/o Talbagan, PaschimSagar, and (4) R. PandiDurai (34)yrs., taxi driver, r/o Megapode. After observing thecodal formalities, they were handed over to Forest Deptt. alongwith the seized items for further legal action Under Indian Forest Act 1927.
