Port Blair, Mar 27: A follow-up Multi-Specialty Medical Camp with specialists from INHS Dhanvantari is being organized jointly by the Andaman and Nicobar Command and Directorate of Health Services for the residents at Carnicobar (BJR Hospital) and Campbell Bay (Primary Health Center) on 28 and 29 Mar 12 respectively.
Scheduled and follow-up cases will be seen starting from 1045 to 1500 hrs which will include special services in Pediatrics, Radiology along with General OPD. Ultrasound scanning for pregnant mothers and sick patients will be conducted on the spot with state of the art portable Ultrasound Machine with Colour Doppler.
The Andaman and Nicobar Command has been carrying out such medical and preventive health camps frequently as a part of the Community Outreach Programme. Camps held in the past include locations as diverse as Neil Island, Car Nicobar, Long Island, Katchal, Nancowry Islands, Diglipur and Campbell Bay. INHS Dhanvantari, the medical team of the ANC has been at the forefront of all the health related activities of the Command.
“The Directorate of Health Services has been participating in these camps on an equal footing, providing doctors, much needed equipment, medical stores and personnel for conduct of medical camps in these far flung islands.The public is encouraged to actively utilise the services of all the specialists during the camp,” a release from DHS said here today.
