Port Blair, June 16: The services of 594 Part time pre primary teachers, pre primary Ayas/Safai Karmachari, 151 Part time attainder and 65 part time craft instructors are being utilized by the Education Department each academic year on part time contract/DRM basis since long back and after the re- opening of the new sessions they are again reappointed.
Last year due to some reasons, they were denied re-appointment for which PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma had submitted several letters of request to the Chief Secretary, Lt Governor and also met the Lt Governor wherein he has briefed about the pathetic conditions of the poor above employees who have to shoulder the responsibilities for looking after their school/college going students, and take care of the families, which was granted by the present Lt Governor and the above personnel were re-appointed for the academic session 2013-14 with an order that their services will be terminated after the last working day of the school before closure of schools summer vacation-2014 i.e from 30th April,2014, and as a result these poor employees are out of service at present.
Accordingly Kuldeep has written a letter of request to the Lt Governor that since the school will re-open after the vacation, he may kindly consider of re-appointing the above poor 594 Part time teachers,Ayas, Safaiwallas, 151 Part time attender and 65 craft instructors on humanitarian ground so that they may join their respective posts on opening of the schools otherwise they will again face the days of frustration and starvation with their family members.
