Port Blair, June 11: A CBI team which raided atleast two places in Port Blair city yesterday has recovered fake tickets, boarding passes and even security seals of CISF from the possession of two Defence Civilians.
According to the search list and seizure memo produced in court these items have been recovered in huge quantity, which according to sources can also jeopardize the national security. Sources added that with such security passes and marking of CISF seal anyone could have entered into highly security zone of Airport. The accused reportedly had fake boarding passes of almost all airlines.
Andaman Sheekha team was present at Court today noticed that two accused arrested yesterday, namely Gandhi Bera, S/o Neelkant Bera, Firemen of Indian Navy (civilian staff) and Kashinath Lingam, another Defence Civilian from Navy were sent to CBI custody by the court for 10 days.
According to details gathered here from highly reliable sources these people were not only selling these fake tickets and boarding pass in Andaman but also sending these throughout India. Sources also added that Gandhi Bera is probably, one of the kingpins of this multi-crore racket and for now investigating agencies do not think that anyone else in these Islands is involved in this racket.
Some people are now also linking this racket with fake travel claims made by some MPs in recent pass.
