Port Blair, June 03: Directorate of Tourism has received complaints from tourists on overcharging and harassment by boat operators and other tourism service providers. To ensure transparency and avoid such complaints in future, all tourism service providers are advised to ensure that rates and their services are pre-printed on their receipts/tickets & same shall be displayed so that tourists are fully aware of the details before availing the service. This will be monitored by the Tourist Safety Enforcement Team (TSET)/Tourist Safety Supervisory Team (TSST)/SOS Kiosk/officers concerned as the case may be. All tourism service providers shall also declare the rates being charged & details of services provided to the Directorate of Tourism within 30 days.
