Port Blair, Apr 23: Mr. Ashok Ram, retired Assistant Director (Admn) of Agriculture Department today died in a road accident near Chakkar Goan Police quarters area. According to reports Late Ashok Ram was driving an Alto car and was hit by a six wheeler Pickup Van at around 7 PM, which was coming from opposite side. Severely injured Ashok Ram was soon rushed to G B Pant Hospital by people but he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the Hospital. Taking quick action the PS Aberdeen team arrested the driver of the Pick Up Van, S Rama Chandran. Further investigations are on.
