Port Bair, Mar 23: Fire Service Jawans yesterday averted a major fire at Birdline area. According to a report a fire was reported from a Furniture Shop of Birdline at 0126 hrs yesterday. The shop was having property worth 15 lakh. As soon as the Fire Service Control Room received Fire Call, a Fire Tender, with five Fire Service jawans, under command of ASI, I Bux from Garacharma Fire Station was rushed to the spot. The fire was soon brought under total control because of the prompt action of Fire Service Jawans.
