Port Blair, Mar 21: Four candidates filed their nomination papers today (March 21) before the Returning Officer, A & N Islands Parliamentary Constituency, Mr. P. Jawahar. Mr. Saravanan as an Independent candidate filed one nomination paper which was proposed by 10 proposers.
Smt. Anita Mondal of All India Trinamool Congress filed four sets of nomination papers. Her candidature was proposed by 10 proposers.
Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray of Bharatiya Janata Party filed three sets of nomination papers. His candidature was proposed by 3 others.
Mr. Prakash Minj as an Independent candidate filed two sets of nomination papers which were proposed by 10 proposers.
Tomorrow (March 22) is the last date for filing of nomination. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on March 24 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is March 26, 2014.
