Port Blair, Mar 11: 24 people including two sitting Pradhans and one Ex-Pradhan of Havelock Island have been arrested by Crime Investigation Department (CID) today for attacking Fire Brigade Officers and Jawans and obstructing them from performing their duties.
After a detailed investigation, with the help of Havelock Police, the CCS team could arrest all the attackers except one, whose father expired. All arrested people were brought to Port Blair today from Havelock by CID team and were produced to court from where 23 have been sent to Judicial Custody while one has been sent to CID custody. Mr. Manik Sidhar Pradhan, Shyam Nagar Panchayat and Ranjan Samdhar, Pradhan, Govind Nagar and Ex-Pradhan, Sanjay Roy are among this arrested lot.
